HANDS-ON SCIENCE WORKSHOPS, Grades K-8

These workshops emphasize experiential learning to help students develop insight and understanding in life science, physical science, earth science and technology.

 

September, 2023

Life all around – students investigate Non alaskan and Alaskan Alaskan habitats and the plants and animals that live within them. Learning objectives include living and non-living elements of ecosystems, food chains, webs and pyramids, renewable and non-renewable resources.

Future City – Students concieve and solve problems, and generate creative ideas about future cities..

 

November, 2023

Out of this World – Passports and rocket rides from the sun to Pluto.

 

February, 2024

Digital Universe – Students will gain a fundamental understanding of electronics and computer science principles through hands-on projects that involve circuit design and programming.

 

March, 2024

Mixing it Up – This workshop will help students gain understanding of properties of matter and changes that occur when different subtances are mixed, unmixed and combined in ways to produce completely different substances.
